THE state government had appealed to Sanmina-SCI Corporation (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd to defer its retrenchment exercise until the end of the year but to no avail, the august house has been told.
Industrial Development Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said he made the appeal during a meeting with Sanmina on Oct 29 after being informed of the company’s decision to restructure its facility in the Sama Jaya Free Industrial Zone here.
