Malaysia’s corporate landscape recently saw the emergence of a new professional organisation that is set to generate trained risk management specialists.
The Enterprise Risk Management Academy (Erma) is an organisation that focuses on promoting awareness towards enterprise risk management and corporate governance by conducting various educational programmes and offering professional designations.
Headquartered in Singapore, Erma currently has operations hubs spread mainly in Asia, Africa and Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. The academy champions the ISO 31000 standards for risk management.
One of Erma’s ongoing programmes is the Asia Pacific Risk Management Conference (APRMC) which is an annual regional conference held to bring together risk management professionals in Asia to deliberate on the latest developments and issues in risk management.
The second APRMC was recently successfully held in Malaysia from Nov 5 to 6 and saw the participation of more than 150 delegates and speakers from around the region.
Present at the event was Erma Global founder and chairman F. Antonius Alijoyo.
“The choice of Malaysia to host Erma’s second regional conference is timely as we progress towards gold standards in the enterprise risk management practice and framework.
“We have a lot to learn from each other and it is important for the profession and stakeholders to come together to exchange new ideas, share best practices, and set the tone for the future,” said Erma Asia Sdn Bhd chairman Wee Hock Kee.
