THE title “Markings 1:16” for an exhibition may sound unusual, but the title of Bembol Dela Cruz’s latest solo exhibition at Richard Koh Fine Art Gallery, refers to a tattoo needle’s penetration depth.
“I chose ‘1:16’, to represent the one-sixteenth of an inch that the tattooist’s needle penetrates to mark a person’s skin,” said Dela Cruz, 36.
