Early check-ups crucial to prevent illness

TEMERLOH: Breast cancer is among one of the major causes of deaths involving Malaysian women. Mentakab assemblyman Datuk Chuah Boon Seong said based on statistics, out of 100,000 women population, 29 of them were found to be suffering from the terminal illness.

“This is a high figure and women folk should go for yearly check-up as a precautionary measure. “If detected early, there is a good chance of recovery with proper treatments and monitoring,” he said after launching the breast cancer walk programme at Temerloh Mall near here recently.
