140 turn up at UKM Indian alumni dinner after months of planning

Here we are: The 140 attendees raise their hands in unison to celebrate the start of the dinner event.

FOR some of the 140 attendees at the inaugural Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Indian alumni reunion on Nov 3, it was the first time these old friends were seeing each other since they graduated.

The product of five months’ hard work and endless phone calls by organisers Anthony Fernandez and The Star news editor K. Suthakar, the event was a chance for the alumni to network, renew old ties and re-tell old anecdotes about undergraduate life in the now 41-year-old university.
