YOKOHAMA, Japan: Sarawak has voiced its concern over the ever-changing requirements imposed by many importers on the entry of tropical timber into their countries.
Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud said some of these requirements, such as third party verification and certification, had escalated the production cost of tropical timber but with no corresponding increase in its price nor any increase in demand.
