Kota Kinabalu International Airport the scene of ‘plane crash’

A hyped up: The scene of the aircraft crash practice at Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

KOTA KINABALU: Wailing sirens of fire engines, ambulances and police vehicles broke the serenity at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) when an imaginary plane ferrying 70 passengers ‘crash landed’ on Tuesday night.

A massive line up of vehicles and bystanders were seen along the roads facing the airport when all enforcement units rushed to the scene during a full-scale air crash simulation exercise organised by the Malaysia Airports.
