Army preferred over private contractors to build rural roads


MIRI: The general feeling among local community leaders and politicians is that rural road projects in Sarawak should be taken away from private contractors and given to the Army instead.

This sentiment has become stronger after the Auditor-General’s report disclosed that many of the projects are in bad shape because of delays and poor workmanship on the part of private contractors paid by the government.
