Jakim issues certificates to nasi kandar restaurants and fast food outlets


GEORGE TOWN: Three nasi kandar chains in the state have now received their halal certificates from the Malaysian Department of Islamic Development (Jakim), while the applications by four more chains are being processed.

State Domestic Trade, Consumer Affairs and Reli­gious Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Malik Abul Kassim said Nasmir Nasi Kandar Restaurant Sdn Bhd, Pelita Samudera Pertama (M) Sdn Bhd and Restoran Kamalia had been certified halal.
