Land office to check on illegal sand mining

IN A move to put a stop to sand thefts, Petaling district officer Datuk Zulkepli Ahmad said he would send his enforcement team to investigate illegal sand mining activities carried out at construction sites in Damansara Perdana, Petaling Jaya.

“As far as the land office is concern, sand mining can only be carried out by Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd, which is the only company allowed to mine sand in Selangor. The land office has not received any documents from the contractor to mine sand or remove sand from the site,” he said.
