THE horse-racing industry has lost a great man with the passing of Lim Hock Bee (pic). He was 67.
A former A-list trainer, Hock Bee was regarded as a ‘trainer by chance’ in his early days in the Sport of Kings but when he saddled his first winner with his first runner owned by him – the aptly-named Imperial Lord — he was duly nicknamed the Imperial Lord in 1982.
