BATA Marketing are providing special shoes to the Malaysian contingent for the London Olympics.
Bata Marketing senior manager Datuk James Selvaraj said Bata have had a long relationship with the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).
“This year we have designed special shoes for the Malaysian contingent to be worn during the opening ceremony as well as the athletes’ respective events.
“It is our commitment to the OCM. In fact, we have been strong supporters to OCM representatives to the Malaysian contingents to the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, SEA Games as well as the Asian Indoor Games and Asian Beach Games,’’ said James after a sponsorship ceremony for the London Olympics in Kuala Lumpur recently.
Malaysia will be represented by a contingent of 30 athletes from nine sports — badminton, diving, archery, cycling, fencing, swimming, sailing, shooting and athletics — as well as 31 officials in the Olympics.
Besides Bata Marketing, the other sponsors — Spark Manshop, Maxis, Coca-Cola, Sports Toto, Dutch Lady, Milo, Telekom Malaysia, Astro Arena, Mesuma and Carlsberg — also presented their contributions to the OCM.
