Local celebrities pay tribute to their mothers at private party

MORE than 20 celebrities gathered at Makan2, Hotel Royal Kuala Lumpur to pay tribute to their mothers in conjunction with Mother’s Day.

The event, organised and sponsored by Rafflesia The Pearl Centre, Lord’s Tailor, Sony Indonesia, Nas Great Idea and Hotel Royal KL, was attended by local artistes including Vanida Imran, Rashidi Ishak, Tasha Shilla, Fizz Fairuz, Shaheizy Sam, Miera Liyana, Nur Fathia, Lufya, Hairul Azreen, Farayalna, Afiq Muiz, Azie Yahya, Syafik Kyle, Norman Hakim, Memey Suhaiza, Eina Azman, Zain Saidin, Fizo Omar, Dafi, Anzalna Nasir and Ikram Dinzly, as well as their mothers.

Most of the celebrities and mums were dressed in purple to follow the colour theme for the evening. The private dinner was held in a room that had been sumptuously decorated by Nas Great Idea.

The guests were serenaded by three Indonesian singers who were specially brought in by Sony Indonesia — Audy, who launched her fourth album recently, 23-year-old Naia and jazz crooner Abdul.

According to Rafflesia publicist Bill Bora, the mothers were presented with a pearl necklace each, worth RM5,000 — a special gift courtesy of Rafflesia.

The lucky winner of a contest previously organised by the hotel (“Win A Dinner Date with 20 Celebrities”), Siti Noor Azah Abu Bakar and her mum also attended the event.
