Malacca: Three historic episodes were etched in Malacca Historic City hockey annals, when the state played host to the eight-nation 7th Men’s Junior Asia Cup Hockey Tournament at the Bukit Serendit Hockey Stadium over a ten-day span.
For starters, the tournament was the first ever international level hockey meet to be staged in the state since the establishment of the Malacca Hockey Association in the early 1950s. Further history was made when Malaysia bagged the gold medal for the first time since the series inception in 1987 in Karachi.
