SIBU: The Sibu Municipal Council’s (SMC) deputy chairman post is a political appointment in which it is decided by consensus among the state Barisan Nasional top leaders under the Barisan spirit.
SMC deputy chairman Daniel Ngieng said the post was not created for him, rather he was appointed by the state government.
