GEORGE TOWN: A 95-minute power blackout hit Queensbay Mall and its vicinity following a power supply failure due to a switchgear flashover at the Bayan Bay Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) sub-station.
Many store operators in the mall decided to close shop while a majority of shoppers also left which resulted in a 3km bumper-to-bumper crawl.
