Number of new HFMD cases in state continues to drop


KUCHING: The number of new cases of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) in Sarawak continued to decrease, with only 25 cases reported yesterday, bringing the total number of cases so far to 2,709.

In a statement, Sarawak Director of Health Dr Zulkifli Jantan said the drop was observed in Kuching, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Mukah and Sibu divisions. “Five of the new cases were reported each in Miri and Limbang, four in Kuching, three in Bintulu, two each in Betong and Sibu and one each in Sarikei, Sri Aman, Kapit and Mukah,” he said.
