KUCHING: The total amount of rainfall here so far this month at over 700mm is almost double the average amount for December. Over Christmas eve and Christmas day, the state capital received more than 200mm of rain.
“We have had two episodes of very heavy rainfall in Kuching this month. Those two episodes pushed up the figures,” Malaysia Meteorological Department (MET), Sarawak director Wong Teck Kiong said yesterday.
