KUCHING: The recent amendment to the Poisons Act 1952 (Psychotropic Substances) Regulations 2011 can derail the community-based treatment for opioid dependency in Malaysia, and puts doctors in danger of criminal prosecution.
Addiction Medicine Association Of Malaysia (AMAM) president Dr Stephen Chow said the recent amendment now required medical practitioners to revert to the archaic, time consuming, tedious and cumbersome method of manual recording.
