Sarawak has over 100,000 illegal foreigners, and the number is fast increasing

MIRI: The Home Ministry’s latest data indicate that the population of illegal foreign workers in Sarawak has surged alarmingly beyond the 100,000 mark and rising fast.

The ministry’s secretary-general Tan Sri Mahmood Adam, in disclosing the figure during a dinner with senior officers of the Immigration Department in Sarawak here on Saturday night, said the “invasion” of alien workers came about due to the fast expansion of the agricultural sector throughout the state’s interior.
