KUCHING: Graduates from the Manpower Department Training Institution (ILJTM) have been told to prove themselves when they are on the job.
Welfare, Women and Family Development Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah believed every graduate from ILJTM were equipped with various technical skills and high intellectual level, good communication skills and discipline to face the challenges in the job market.
She said employers would certainly want to employ those who were skilful and able to improve themselves and make the company successful.
“It is important that you all must prove that graduates from ILJTM and yourselves have quality and excellent skills,” she said at the second session of the ILJTM convocation ceremony here yesterday.
Fatimah also reminded graduates from the institution not to think that the pursuit of knowledge ended after their convocation.
She said graduates must continue to pursue knowledge to add value to their skills and paper qualification.
Instead of being complacent with the present achievement, graduates must continue to improve their skills so that they can become a competitive, creative, innovative manpower, she said.
“Nowadays, there is no limit to the pursuit of knowledge because you can have access to all sort of knowledge through books and the Internet.
“Hence, I would like to suggest that every graduate exploit the opportunity that is available to the very best for your own good,” she said.
