Penang Barisan upset over rejected application to put up messages


GEORGE TOWN: The Barisan Nasional is not happy with the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) for not allowing the coalition to put up Happy Deepavali banners in Little India.

Penang Gerakan chief Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan said that the state Opposition had submitted an application to Penang Municipal Council at least one week ago to place about 10 to 15 banners to wish the public ‘Happy Deepavali’ in Little India but the response came only on Monday.
