Malacca: With cricket making inroads into primary, secondary and residential-type schools, the Ministry of Education’s sports division is also getting involved in the game’s technical development by encouraging teachers to become qualified scorers and umpires.
The division’s efforts reaped dividends when 48 teachers, including five women and several with little or no knowledge of cricket, attended a four-day basic course for umpires and scorers here recently.
