Youth expo draws over 5,000 visitors

THE long queue at the Digital Experience Corner did not deter Revathy Manargranan, 26, as she waited for her turn at Amway’s “Y Me” Youth Expo virtual makeover station.

Such patience paid off. With just a few clicks on the myriad of menus, she created a whole new look.

Onlookers cheered with approval as each new stroke of eyeshadow, hairstyles and colours that best suited her appeared on the screen.

“This virtual makeover programme is super! I am able to try out new colours that suit me without purchasing the entire range. Now, we will get a virtual impression of how we look in fresh styles without the risk of wrong choices. Plus, it’s cost saving as well!” gushed Revathy.

Revathy and her family were among the 5,000 visitors who thronged Amway’s “Y Me” Youth Expo held recently.

The Youth Expo, a first ever by Amway targeted the Gen-Ys, received enthusiastic response from the young crowd.

The youth rally that followed after was engaging with various speakers sharing and empowering other entrepreneurs to enhance their business.

“The expo is aimed at stimulating young minds to tap into our country’s abundant and potential business opportunities,” said Amway Malaysia general manager Paul Yee.

“Through this expo, we hope to encourage more young Malaysians to strive and become successful entrepreneurs. Such collective ambition eventually would spur the economy.”

Interesting and eye-catching activities such as Amway Personal Care and Artistry product demonstrations and displays, face and body painting as well as funky makeup showcasing models resembling futuristic beings awed the crowd.

Health conscious visitors also tried out the BMI Analysis and Abs Trimmer Challenge at the Nutrilite section, coupled with digital health assessment analysis and flaring acts by bartenders as they gave out beverage samples to visitors.

Emerging victorious at the Football Dribbling Challenge, 22-year-old Wong Chee Heen said, “This expo is indeed an opportunity to learn and understand more about the business and products. I’ve heard about Amway a long time ago, but it was only about two months ago that I realise that it can be a business opportunity for me.”

Experienced direct distributor Lim Jit Guan, and his wife, Maggi Lim, who have been in the business for many years, applauded the company for coming up with such innovative and creative ideas to help generate awareness among the youth.
