From now until Nov 15, the Taipei City Government Depart-ment of Information and Tourism will reward Malaysians whose message generate the most “Like” responses with the flight tickets.
The promotion is part of the “Taipei — Explore the Endless Possibilities” campaign to promote Taipei tourism through the social networking site.
Information on the gastronomic delights and travelling tips are shared on the page.
For example, the “Taipei Confucius Cuisine” promotion highlights the heritage architecture of the Dalongdong community — the magnificent Taipei Confucius Temple — and the renaissance of Confucian culture.
The city government has invited renowned gourmet Zhu Zhen-fan to create 10 dishes that are rich in allusions to the Great Sage and the Twelve Wise Men worshiped at the Confucius Temple.
Among the savoury banquet available at 32 restaurants and eateries are Deceive the Scholar Fish, Wen Tianxiang Chicken and Zhuge Double Delicacy.
From now until Oct 30, the 2011 Taipei World Design Expo will be a sensory feast of creative designs.
International talents representing design firms, design schools, design-promotion organisations and other related groups will show off the industry’s pulsating energy alongside Taiwan’s own design corporations.
On Oct 10, the Dadaocheng Wharf will come alive with the 2011 Taipei Dadaocheng Fire-works Festival.
Besides the fireworks, revellers can enjoy puppet theatre show and classic movie theme songs performance, and snack on local delicacies to commemorate the republic’s 100th birthday.
