Safe city programme expects to reduce crime index


KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu City Hall Safe City Programme is expected to reduce the city’s overall crime index by five percent by 2012 and 20 percent street crimes by the end of the year, said Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai.

He is confident the programmes, which would be implemented in three phases, based on the recommendations by the Kota Kinabalu City Police, could be achieved.
