Golden Churn butter sample taken from supermart

KUCHING: The sample that led to the Golden Churn Creamery Butter being declared non-halal was taken from a supermarket in this city.

The sole sample — a can of butter weighing 450gm — was bought by the Sarawak Islamic Department (Jais) sometime in May and sent to the Chemistry Department in Petaling Jaya for DNA test after the Johor Islamic Department discovered porcine DNA in the product in April.
