GEORGE TOWN: A series of tests for radio frequency radiation measurements at 52 telecommunication tower sites in Penang showed that the towers were safe for local residents.
Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) chief officer of resource planning and industry development Mohd Ali Hanafiah said the emissions from the towers were well below the exposure limit of 1 microwatt per sq cm as set by the International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection.
