MIRI: The Environment and Public Health Ministry has given its full backing to the Department of Environment (DOE) and the courts to impose maximum fines on companies that discharge pollutants into rivers.
Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh said the authorities were doing the right thing in being strict against polluters.
