SCRAP metal thieves in Alor Setar who steal metal drain covers will soon be losing that source of income when the Alor Setar City Council (MBAS) starts replacing the metal covers with plastic ones to prevent theft.
Alor Setar Mayor Datuk Khazali Din (pic) said that in the past three years, about 70% of metal covers in the city had been stolen.
