Tasty treat for 300 dumpling fans


MORE than 300 bak chang (glutinous rice dumpling) lovers were teeming with anticipation to sample a wide variety of bak chang at the 13th Rice Dumpling Tasting in conjunction with the Rice Dumpling Festival, also known as the Dragon Boat Festival, held at the Penang Chinese Town Hall (PCTH).

Organised by the PCTH education and cultural section, Chinese daily Kwong Wah Yit Poh and various Chinese associations, the event saw bak chang lovers sampling six different types of bak chang such as the Cantonese, Nyonya, Teochew, Hokkien, Hainan and red bean rice dumplings.
