GEORGE TOWN: A former nurse who sued four people from a private hospital over a ruptured uterus, which made her unable to have sex with her husband, has been awarded RM35,000 in damages by a High Court.
Judicial Commissioner Nurmala Salim ordered defendants – Lam Wah Ee Hospital’s then superintendent Datuk Dr Tan Chong Siang, president Chua Chuan Teong, secretary Chong Kum Kwan and gynaecologist Dr Quah Thong Sai, to pay Loo Wee Woon RM20,000 in exemplary damages, RM10,000 for bereavement and RM5,000 for funeral expenses.
