PERFORMANCE of the musical Shiny Black Gold brought back nostalgic memories for the older generation and at the same time allowed the young to have a glimpse of the struggles and sacrifices their forefathers had gone through in building the nation.
With songs and dance, the play chronicled the hopes and dreams of the hardy and versatile Hakka people who braved a perilous sea journey crossing the South-China Sea to Malaya during the glorious days of tin mining in Perak in the early 1900s.
