Pensonic on track to becoming a successful brand in the continent

LISTED by the Government as one of the main drivers for the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), homegrown electrical home appliances company Pensonic is on a fast track towards achieving its vision of becoming a successful Asian brand.

As one of the local leaders in the electrical and electronics (E&E) market, the Penang-based company has set its sights on building an international manufacturing hub in the state.

Pensonic group managing director Dixon Chew said the hub would assist in research and development, product development and act as headquarters for the company’s operations.

Besides that, the company hopes to take up the challenge of grooming local small medium enterprises (SMEs) in the same direction.

“Pensonic aims to share its experiences with other SMEs in the hope of helping to spur economic growth,” said Chew.

The company recently unveiled its five-year corporate expansion plan which aims to increase sales by three times over the course of five years.

Chew said the company’s progress looks encouraging, recording a positive growth for 2011 so far.

“We are projecting aggressive growth and we will continue to build our brand business,” he said.

Pensonic is also gearing for original design manufacturing (ODM) business, which will lead towards increased production in multinational countries.

“ODM is one of the key areas as we believe it will provide access to international distribution networks,” he said.

In the future, Pensonic plans to tap into South-East Asian, Middle East and African markets.

“We are also formulating a business model to enter the China market,” he said.

He added the company hoped to win the hearts of consumers through product development and emotional branding.

“We hope that people will feel proud to be associated with Pensonic, and that Malaysia will have something to call our own,” said Chew.

In recognition of the brand’s efforts, the company had received three prestigious brand awards lately.

“We are lucky that Pensonic was chosen by general consumers as their preference for electrical home appliances,” said Chew.
