I WOULD like to raise certain points with regard to the StarMetro report headlined “Pit bull among seven breeds banned in Subang Jaya”. It is disheartening to know that the Subang Jaya Municipal Council and the Selangor Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) will impose such impractical regulations instead of helping pet owners.
How does the council and the state DVS regulate which breed is considered aggressive and unsuitable? What are the criteria set in place to determine and rank the breeds? On what basis and which agency did they consult to make such a decision?
