SOUTHPAW fencer Andrew Mok fell short of convincing his camp that he deserved a place to gauge his strength in the cadet (Under-17) section of the Asian Fencing Confederation (AFC) Cadet and Junior meet in Bangkok recently.
After failing to meet the semi-final target at last month’s Singapore Cadet Fencing World Cup, Touche Fencing Club chief coach C.W. Mok said they felt the 15-year-old exponent was not ready to feature in much higher level contests with more superior fencers coming from countries with strong traditions in fencing at the recent Asian meet.
