UP to 2,505 rats have been exterminated by the Penang Municipal Council’s (MPPP) vector section over the past two months as a precaution against leptospirosis or rat urine disease.
MPPP Public Health standing committee alternate chairman Ong Ah Teong said there were three rat extermination teams covering George Town, Air Itam and the south-west district.
