300 people liven up bonding project in Bangsar

RESIDENTS of four streets in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur — Jalan Limau Purut, Jalan Limau Besar, Jalan Limau Manis and Upper Lorong Ma’arof — pulled off a successful street party recently.

The organisers were Zabedah Mohd Noor and Mrs James Erun.

The function was a spin-off to their earlier effort to secure 24-hour security guard surveillance to check the crime rate in the area. They achieved the targed within a short period of one-and-a-half months. The duo then decided to carry out a bonding project to bring out the spirit of neighbourliness of the people.

They decided that the function will be done solely on donations by everyone. They received an overwhelming response from the residents when about 300 people turned up for the party from 9.30am to 2pm.

Preparations for the event, including the cleaning up, were done by the residents.

There were games for the children, music requests for everyone especially with dedications being made to family members.
