KUCHING: SugarBun has given special Chinese New Year treats to the residents of Rumah Seri Kenangan Kuching and the Salvation Army Children’s Home.
At Rumah Seri Kenangan Kuching, 85 senior citizens and 29 staff members enjoyed the special SugarBun luncheon, while at a separate function, 55 residents of the Salvation Army Children’s Home and five care-takers of the children were treated to a dinner at SugarBun One TJ here.
All of them were treated to ‘SugarBun Prosperity Meals’ consisting of ‘SugarBun’s Fish and Broasted Chicken Rice Meals’ with drinks and also mandarin oranges.
At both functions, the management of SugarBun presented them with ‘ang pow’ as a gesture of sharing and good wishes for the season.
Besides enjoying their meals, they were also entertained with lion dances.
To members of the press, SugarBun marketing manager Clara Chan said the company was grateful to the State Welfare Department and the Salvation Army Children’s Home for allowing them to share the new year celebration with the community.
She said that indeed the management and staff members of the homes had done great charity work.
“We hope our humble gestures had brought some cheer and joy,” she said.
