OVER an elegant spread of high tea and specially-made peach macaroons, members of the media were recently treated to a unique first sniff of Annick Goutal’s newest fragrance, ‘La Mimosa’.
The pre-launch soiree at Empire Shopping Gallery gave guests an exclusive preview of the perfume, which is not available in stores until next month.
“Those who like ‘Petite Cherie’, you will fall in love with ‘La Mimosa’,” said Esplanade Avenue managing director Ken Lim, a distributor of Annick Goutal perfume in Malaysia.
“This scent is light and fresh, just like the early summer sun.”
So named for the delicate yellow blossoms that dominate the fragrance, ‘La Mimosa’ is an uplifting fragrance that bursts with character.
‘La Mimosa’ is the sixth solo fleur (single flower) signature scent from the fragrance house, created by Isabelle Doyen and Camille Goutal, the perfumers behind the Annick Goutal brand.
Top notes of the fragrance include piquant mimosa, coupled with soft green, florentine iris and powdery anise scents.
These sharper aromas are balanced by a subtle blend of sweet peach mid-tones, with underlying strains of white musk and sandlewood rounding out this fresh bouquet in a long-lasting and full-bodied fragrance.
The perfume’s lingering scent is as playful as the distinctive yellow polka-dotted ribbon adorning the bottle, designed by perfumer Camille Goutal herself to evoke the carefree spirit of the 1980s.
“The sunny, bright-yellow design is a tribute to the 1980s, inspired by Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and the Pointer Sisters,” Lim said.
This springtime fragrance will be available as a 50ml and 100ml eau de toilette from March 2011.
