Reunion dinner

THE pioneer batch of ex-students, teachers and support staff of SMK Sungei Pelek (formerly known as NTSS Sungei Pelek), Sepang are meeting for a “Once in a lifetime get-together” reunion dinner scheduled on Feb 3, to be held at the Golden Palm Tree, Sepang Gold Coast in Bagan Lalang. The reunion dinner will be held at 5pm. The organising committee headed by Selvarasu Suppiah is calling all former students to make this event a successful one by being part of this function. Former students are also requested to bring along old photographs of the school days or magazines to help remember the “good old days”. Green tech session

CYBERVIEW Sdn Bhd will be hosting its first iGREET (Information on Green Technology) session for 2011 on Jan 27 at 10am at Kelab Komuniti Taman Tasik Cyberjaya. The session focuses on green technology awareness and solutions and builds on informative past sessions featuring industry leaders in green building technologies. The keynote speakers will be Selangor Town and Country Planning Department director Datuk Mohd Jaafar Mohd Atan and Selangor Environmental Department director Datin Paduka Che Asmah Ibrahim. A TALK on The Risks of Obesity and the Right Approach to Weight Management will be held today from 9.30am-12.30pm at the Asia eUniveristy (AeU) main campus, Dataran Kewangan Darul Takaful, Main Block, No. 4, Jalan Sultan Sulaiman, Kuala Lumpur. It is organised by the AeU’s School of Professional and Executive Education, in collaboration with the Asia Network Marketing Academy of Markplus Institute of Marketing. Participants will learn to differentiate between body fat and fat-free mass in their bodies, Find out what visceral fat is and what causes its accumulation, and learn to manage their weight. Hospital open day

COLUMBIA Asia Hospital Cheras will be organising an open day for the public on Sunday from 8.30am-4pm at its hospital in Jalan Suakasih, Cheras. There will be free health screenings, including tests for high blood pressure, blood sugar test, body mass index (BMI), bone scan and hand grip assessment. Other activities include a blood donation drive, colouring contest, health quiz, magic show, face-painting, sand art and goodie bag giveaways (first come first served). THE National Blood Centre will be setting up its mobile donation unit on Monday at the Cenderawasih room, Wisma Felda, Jalan Perumahan Gurney (9am-4pm), Training room, Shangri-La Hotel Putrajaya (10am-3pm), Gallery, Dasein Academy of Art (10am-4pm) and the Function Room, Dorsett Regency Kuala Lumpur (10am- 4pm).
