RESIDENTS have agreed to the Shah Alam City Council’s (MBSA) proposal to introduce the pay-and-display parking system at the Kota Kemuning commercial area.
The system will be introduced to improve the existing parking arrangement and ensure a smoother traffic flow in the township.
The commercial centre in Kota Kemuning is growing rapidly and the increasing number of vehicles has resulted in less than ideal traffic flow situation.
The pay-and-display parking system was first introduced in Shah Alam in 2002 by Suasa Efektif (M) Sdn Bhd.
A meeting was held with Kota Kemuning residents about two weeks ago to hear their views.
Present during the meeting were MBSA councillor Tan Ah Kow, MBSA Kota Kemuning branch manager Abdul Rauf Yaakob, MBSA Revenue Management Division manager Khairul Nizam Zainal Abidin and Suasa Efektif chief executive officer Ahmad Sazali Shaarani.
The council said such meetings would be held regularly to get residents’ feedback, in line with the Shah Alam Local Agenda 21 concept which encourages community involvement in all activities and programmes organised by the local authority.
