GUINNESS Anchor Berhad (GAB) welcomed more than 500 key trade partners and distributors to the GAB 2010 Trade Engagement Forum held at Nikko Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
This much-anticipated annual trade gathering is one of the highlights of the local brewery industry — bringing together experts from the beer, food and hospitality industry under one roof to share global insights and trends on beer and consumers with participants at the forum.
GAB marketing director Mark Jenner said: “The intention of this forum is to provide our key trade partners with information, insights and resources that will help them improve their business and stay competitive in a challenging market environment.
“Our objective is to build value-added relationships with our trade and this forum is a key platform for us to engage with them in a constructive and meaningful way”.
The forum showcased four keynote speakers — each an expert in their respective fields,
World-renowned beer expert and consultant Kirrily Waldhorn (also known as the Beer Diva) and the editor of Australia’s only consumer-based beer magazine shared insights on how the global beer market was evolving.
She also spoke about potential new products, consumer segments and emerging trends that impact the beer-drinking experience and environment.
Other notable speakers included co-founder and managing director of the Asian Food Channel (AFC) Hian Goh who talked about how the hospitality industry and restauranteurs are capitalising on new or emerging food and beverage trends; “Feng Shui Queen” Lynn Yap spoke on how to create the perfect environment with the right energy and vibe to draw customers and media consultant Teng Yee Kiong who shared with the participants impactful but cost-efficient ways to market their outlets and products.
The day-long event also offered trade participants access to an extensive range of equipment, hardware and other related services.
Suppliers of bar, beverage, kitchen equipment, glassware including complimentary resources like lighting and interior design specialists were present to give participants an opportunity to review the latest offerings and innovations in the market.
This forum is an annual event under the auspices of the GAB Academy, a dedicated trade engagement programme created for key trade partners in the hotel, entertainment outlets and restaurant operators business.
