RESIDENTS of SS23 in Petaling Jaya took the chance to voice out their problems during a meeting with Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed and his team recently.
Among the issues raised during the four-hour session were house break-ins, snatch thefts and car thefts. Arjunaidi said many also gave suggestions on how the police could serve the community better.
One that caught his interest was how the police force could meet residents through smaller meetings or events.
“Instead of having sessions like this they asked if we could meet residents in coffee shops or schools,” he said as many often found it a hassle to visit the police station to ask for advice on certain matters.
RT SS23 Taman Sea chairman Lim Pay Chye said the neighbourhood was divided into four zones where a gated and guarded system was put in place since 2006.
“With the system, residents feel safer and happier getting in and out of their houses”.
