Heart failure on the rise

HEART failure will affect up to 660,000 Malaysians by 2020, according to estimates based on current occurrence levels.

Of every 1,000 Malaysians, there are 20 heart-failure sufferers, and medical researchers say the figure will increase significantly with the earlier onset of hypertension, diabetes and coronary heart diseases.
