SARAWAK’S natural boundaries and stringent laws on quarantine has kept the state free from rabies and from Hand, Foot and Mouth disease (HFMD).

Agriculture Department Veterinary Officer Dr William Rovina Nating said the state had managed to keep a lockdown on these two animal-transmitted diseases even though it had to impose certain regulations that were unpopular.
