Agency detains nine fishing boats


KUALA TERENGGANU: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) detained nine Vietnamese boats with 95 crew, including its skippers for conducting illegal fishing activities in Malaysian waters last month.

The agency’s Eastern Region operations director, Maritime Commander Syed Mohd Fuzi Syed Hasan, said two of the boats were caught fishing in waters of Terengganu and the remaining were nabbed off the waters of Kelantan.
