TWO villages in the Hulu Langat district, Kampung Songkok and Kampung Orang Asli Tanjung Rambai will be getting their electricity supply via micro-hydro power which is a rural electrification power project through ‘unconventional methods’.
Since the hills and mountains where the Orang Asli settlements are have rich sources of water, the micro-hydro power project partly funded by Shell Malaysia would provide these numerous rural indigenous communities with electricity services, which was a limiting factor in their socio-economic development, education and healthcare.
