KUANTAN: The biotechnology industry is important to the country’s economy, contributing about 2% to the gross domestic product (GDP) last year, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.
Muhyiddin said realising its importance, the Government had already launched a National Biotechnology Policy since 2005.
