THE Sarawak River that meanders through the city centre fronting the waterfront turns into a racing circuit as about 5,800 paddlers vie to be the king of the river at the annual Sarawak Regatta.
The three-day event kicked off yesterday in the heats for the categories - Bidar 15-man paddlers, Bidar 30-man paddlers, Bidar 20-man paddlers, Bidar 15-mixed paddlers, Balok seven-man paddlers, singles and doubles kayak.
